Battery life and durability are also expected to see incremental upgrades. Like its predecessor, the AirTag uses a replaceable coin-cell battery, but efficiency improvements may extend usage time. The design remains compact and minimal, with better resistance to dust and water, making it more reliable for everyday carry and travel scenarios.

Privacy remains a major focus. The second-generation AirTag strengthens anti-stalking measures by improving alerts for unknown trackers and refining how iPhones detect unwanted tracking. Apple continues to balance usability with safety, ensuring that while users can easily track their belongings, misuse is harder and more detectable.
